Round 11 Cadwell
For Cadwell I
have made some big changes to the front end, I had practiced a few weeks
before and it had highlighted some problems I might have.
In qualifying
the problems I had previoulsy had were definitely not so bad, and I was
sure with a little extra tweeking I could arrive at an excellent set up
for the race. The session went well and I ended up in 10th on the grid.
For the second session the track was damp and I was not able to go hard
enough to improve the setup - not such a bad thing as I was relatively
happy with things as they were. Unfortunately I was pipped out of 10th
place and finished in 11th.
Starting from
the 3rd row of the grid I knew I had to make a good start and keep with
the lead pack. I was sure I could live with the pace. I did make a good
start and a few riders went of on the first corner causing a bit of caos,
I was albe to hold my line and was in the top 10 into the first corner.
For the first part of the race I was lying in 7th place right on the back
of the lead pack and happy with the way the bike was working. The rider
in front was starting to lose the group in front, and if I had been able
to pass him earlier I may have been able to get a tow from them, but I
was already lapping quicker than I had done in the race and was not able
to get past until a few laps had gone and by then I had lost the tow.
It was now a three bike battle for 6th, 7th and 8th- and none of us wanted
to give in. It was a great end to the race with positions swapping every
lap.
On the last corner
a bit of fairing paint swapped hands and I was just beaten to the line
to get 7th with 8th place man right behind.
Cadwell was a
good meeting for me, I rode well and got a great result - I went faster
than I ever had before round Cadwell and am really looking forward to
the next round.
I left Cadwell
in 10th position in the championship.
